METALLURGISTS - CANADA

Position 1: Smelter Metallurgist
Position 2: Refinery Metallurgist

A leading international metals producer seeks talented Metallurgists

for one of its Canadian operations. These positions offer great

long-term career development opportunities worldwide as well as the

opportunity to gain work and resident status in Canada for successful

non-Canadian applicants and their families.

You Possess :

• Degree of Engineering (metallurgical, chemical, process or

related), ‘Professional Engineer’ designation eligibility - or -

Bachelor of Chemistry (or related science discipline)
• Minimum five (5) and two (2) years of pyrometallurgical

experience in similar smelting and refining environments, respectively
• Competent management skills
• Practical knowledge of metals accounting
• Knowledge of process control
• Sound knowledge safety systems and practices

You will :

• Report to the Technical Services Senior Metallurgist
• Seek out opportunities for improvements to process, costs and

research & development
• Develop and manage smelter / refinery projects
• Be a technical resource for operational procedure matters
• Provide accurate data / analysis to various departments i.e.

Smelter/Refinery, Accounting, Environment, and Technical Services etc.
• Establish and provide plant scale investigations of process

changes and improvements 3 months to 5 years in the future
• Participate in setting budgets; monitor and control project

costs
• Assist in meeting established production levels
• Monitor, evaluate, coach and recognize the performance of team

members
